Fresh Mercy Waiting on the Doorstep

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Good morning, and happy Wednesday. Somewhere between the alarm and the first cup, a gift has already been set down for you. You didn't earn it, and you can't use it up.

"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
— Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
Father, I woke up, and that is the first mercy. My lungs worked. The light came through the curtain. You did not wait for me to be ready. Yesterday's mercy was enough for yesterday. I don't need to carry its leftovers or ration them. You made this batch fresh, with my name on it. When I stumble over the same old worry, let me remember your compassions do not run dry. When I am tired by noon, remind me the supply was never mine to manage. I praise you for being faithful when I was asleep, faithful when I was foolish, faithful right now. Give me a light heart and open hands. Let me hand out what you hand me. In Jesus' name, amen.

Today, on purpose:
