Good morning, Tuesday. The first rush of the week is behind you, and the long middle stretch is here, which is where most of life actually gets walked. God knows the exact weight of what you're carrying, and he has strength measured out for each step of it.
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, I'm not asking to fly today. I'm asking to walk. Down the hallway, across the parking lot, up the stairs with the heavy bag. Before my feet hit the floor, I wait on you, the way a sail waits for wind. Renew what the week has worn thin. Give my legs patience and my heart a steady rhythm. If you lift me up, I'll thank you. If you simply keep me going, one step and then the next, I'll thank you louder. You never tire and you never lose the path. Walk with me past the bus stop, the inbox, the long afternoon. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Pause ten seconds before each new task and breathe a prayer.
Take one slow, grateful walk, even if it's only to the mailbox.
Notice one moment today when strength showed up quietly.
