Good morning. Monday is here with its hands full, but you don't have to take anything from it yet. There's a seat open before the day begins, and mercy is already being served.
"O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days." — Psalm 90:14 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, I come hungry, and I'm glad to be. Before the phone lights up, before anyone needs anything from me, feed me with your mercy. Not a crumb. A full portion, warm, the kind that settles in the chest. You know where I've been running on empty. Fill those places first. Let me taste that I am forgiven, that I am held, that this Monday already has your fingerprints on it. Then send me out satisfied, with laughter close to the surface. Let me be glad at the bus stop, glad in the meeting, glad over the dishes tonight. Teach me to say "enough" and mean it as thanks. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Pause for one slow breath of thanks before touching my phone.
Say one honest, cheerful word to someone I usually pass.
