Good morning, friend. The week has worn a few grooves in you, and still here is a whole new day with the light pooling on the floor. Look at it for a moment before you reach for your phone.
"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, it's Friday, and my shoulders still remember Monday. But you made this day, the same as all the others, and you did not make it half-finished. So I will be glad in it. Not because everything is easy. Because you are here. Give me gladness I can actually use: a laugh with someone tired, a thank-you said out loud, one slow breath at a red light. Let me notice the sunlight before I notice the clock. Where I'm weary, lend me your strength. Where I'm stingy, make me generous. Let the "we" in this verse include everyone I meet today. Amen.
