Sunday morning has a hush to it, the kind that comes before the coffee finishes brewing. Somewhere outside a bird is already singing like it has somewhere to be. Come sit here a moment before the day asks anything of you.
"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." — Psalm 5:3 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, before my thoughts scatter in ten directions, let my first words be aimed at You. I set my prayer before You like an arrow on a string, and I let it fly straight up, not sideways into worry. You hear my voice in the morning — the sleepy one, the unsure one, the one that hasn't found its footing yet. I don't need polished words. I need You. Steady my aim today. When my eyes want to drop to my phone, my list, my fears, lift my chin instead. Let me look up first and see You waiting, already smiling. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Pray one honest sentence before checking your phone.
Look up at the sky before you look down at your list.
