Friday morning, and the coffee is still too hot to drink. Somewhere a bus is pulling away without you, and that's fine — today doesn't need you to chase it. Sit down a minute. Let your shoulders drop before your feet even hit the floor.
"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." — Psalm 37:5 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, here is my day, still folded and unopened. I lay it in your hands before I try to run it myself. Take the meeting I'm nervous about, the phone call I keep putting off, the small worry that woke up before I did. I commit my way to you — not just the big parts, but the errands, the traffic, the tired moments too. I trust you to work even where I can't see the wires connecting. You've never dropped what I've handed you before. Steady my steps, quiet my rushing, and bring to pass what only you can build. I'll walk; you carry the outcome. Amen.
