Wednesday leans in through the curtains, patient and bright. The coffee is still warm, the day still unwritten. Sit here a moment before the words start spilling.
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer." — Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, before I open my mouth today, examine what's underneath it. Check the words waiting on my tongue and the quiet thoughts running under them like a current. Let both be fit for your ears, not just the polished sentences I say out loud, but the murmurs I think no one hears. You are my strength when my own resolve runs thin, my redeemer when my words fail me anyway. Shape what I say to my neighbor, my family, my coworkers. Shape what I rehearse in silence too. Let it all be worth bringing to you. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Pause before speaking when frustration rises today.
Notice one unkind thought and release it gently.
Speak one sentence of encouragement to someone tired.
