The dishes can stay in the sink. The list on the counter can curl at the corners, and the messages nobody answered can wait in the dark of your phone. The day's noise is draining out of the walls now, one room at a time.
"And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety." — Job 11:18 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, my camp is made. The pegs are driven, the ropes hang slack, and the fire has burned down to a soft red glow. I did not finish everything today, and You never asked me to. You are the hope that holds up my tent and the keeper of its edges. Let my shoulders drop like damp canvas. Let my breathing slow to the pace of Your watching. Tomorrow's road is one You have already walked and checked. So I lie down with open hands and a warm heart. Thank You for the roof, the blanket, the people breathing down the hall, and the mercy that was new this morning. Amen.
Blessing for your rest May the Lord bank the fire gently over you and keep every stake in your house holding fast. Sleep safe, rise glad, and wake to a morning that smells like grace.
