Let the dish towel hang, the inbox close, the laundry wait folded in its basket till morning. The phone can dim now; nobody needs you until the sun does. Breathe out the hurry — it was never yours to keep past sundown.
"Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day." — Psalm 91:5 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Father, the day is finished and I'm still standing, still loved, still Yours. You named the terror that prowls at midnight and the trouble that strikes at noon, and You said neither gets the final word over me. So I let my shoulders drop. I let my mind stop running laps around tomorrow's worries. You're not surprised by anything waiting for me in the dark. Watch this house, watch the ones I love, watch the quiet street outside. Thank You for another day lived, for breath still coming easy, for this bed, this roof, this peace I didn't earn but get to keep. Goodnight, Lord.
Blessing for your rest Sleep well, friend — no shadow owns you, no sunrise catches you unguarded. Rest easy, and may your whole house wake up glad tomorrow.
