Let the dishes sit in the sink and the emails wait in their folder. The day is finished whether you finished it or not. Fold your hands, breathe out, and let the quiet close over you like a warm blanket pulled to your chin.
"I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me." — Psalm 3:5 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, I lay myself down tonight the way a child leans back into strong arms, not worried about falling. You have carried me through every hour since sunrise, and I trust You to carry me through the dark ones too. I don't need to guard my own sleep — You already are. When morning comes, let me open my eyes knowing You were awake the whole time, holding the world steady, holding me steady. Thank You for another day given, another night promised, another waking to look forward to. I'm grateful, Lord. Truly grateful.
Blessing for your rest Sleep deep and unafraid tonight, you and everyone under your roof — the God who never dozes is keeping watch, and morning will find you exactly where His hands set you down.
