Let the day fold up now — the emails still blinking, the dishes still waiting, the errands that multiplied instead of shrinking. None of it needs you standing guard tonight. Feel the mattress take your weight the way soft ground takes a tired body, and let your shoulders finally believe it.
"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." — Psalm 23:2 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord, You made me to lie down. Not to keep working, not to keep fixing — just to lie down in the green and let the noise drain out of me. Still the water in my mind the way You still a pond at dusk. Take the arguments I keep replaying, the worries I keep rehearsing, and set them on the bank while I rest. I don't have to earn this quiet — You laid the pasture out for me on purpose. Thank You for grass this soft, for water this calm, for a Shepherd who knows exactly how tired I am. Goodnight, and thank You.
Blessing for your rest May your body remember what grass feels like and your mind remember what stillness sounds like. Sleep now — the pasture is wide, the water is calm, and your whole house rests safe in it tonight.
