Jesus spoke these words to people with real needs: food on the table, clothes to wear, tomorrow to face. He never waved those concerns away. Instead, He offered a gentler order of things. Put the kingdom first, and trust the Father to attend to the rest.
Think of how a home is arranged around its heartbeat. When the center is steady, the other rooms fall naturally into place. Seeking God's kingdom first is not a heavy task added to your list; it is choosing which voice gets to speak first each morning. His righteousness, His way of making things right and whole, becomes the lens through which you look at your day, your work, and your relationships.
Notice the promise at the end: all these things shall be added. Added, not earned. Our Father is generous, and He knows what you need before you ask. Today, try beginning with a simple turn of the heart: Lord, what does Your kingdom look like in this hour? Then walk forward lightly, expecting that the One who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows will not forget you. Joy often arrives quietly when we stop clutching and start trusting.
