David doesn't invite us to study goodness from a safe distance. He says taste. A meal can be described, admired, and analyzed, but it only nourishes you when you take a bite. God's goodness works the same way. It is meant to be experienced, not merely discussed.
Tasting is small and personal. It might be a quiet morning when a worry loosens its grip, a friend who shows up at just the right moment, or a Scripture that suddenly speaks to exactly what you're facing. These are not small things. They are flavors of a Father who is kind. Each one is an invitation to trust Him a little more, and each trust makes the next taste sweeter.
Notice the order, too: taste, then see. We often want to see everything first, the whole plan and every outcome, before we trust. David turns it around. Step toward God, and your eyes will open along the way. Today, take one small, honest step of trust, whether it is a prayer, a surrendered worry, or a thank-you. Then watch for His goodness. You may be surprised how near it has been all along.
