Thomas had just asked a very honest question: how can we know the way? Jesus did not hand him a map or a list of directions. He pointed to himself. "I am the way." The road home to the Father is not a set of instructions we must master. It is a person who walks beside us.
That is wonderfully freeing. Many of us carry a quiet worry that we will take a wrong turn and miss what God has for us. But when the way is Jesus, we cannot be truly lost as long as we stay close to him. He is also the truth, so we can trust what he says about God, about us, and about what matters most. And he is the life, so we are not merely getting somewhere. We are being filled with real, living hope along the journey.
Today, bring your questions to him the way Thomas did. Honest wondering is welcome. Then take the next small step, whatever it is, with your eyes on him rather than the whole path ahead. The Father's door stands open, and Jesus has already walked through it for you. Rest in that and let it put a spring in your step.
