Good morning, Thursday. The light is up, the day is wide open, and somebody who loves you is already jogging alongside. Take one slow breath before your feet hit the floor.
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." — Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, you said it as a command, and I hear the tenderness in it. Be strong. Do not be afraid. You never ordered me to feel brave, only to keep going like someone who is not alone. So I will push off this morning a little wobbly, and you will be the hand on the back of the seat. When the road tilts, I will not wait for the ground to level. I will listen for your steps beside mine. Wherever I go today, the hallway, the hard meeting, the grocery line, the phone call I've been avoiding, you have already arrived. Steady my knees. Quiet my what-ifs. And when I glance back, be there, out of breath and laughing. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Do one thing I've been putting off, before noon.
Say 'You are with me' before walking into anything hard.
Notice one person who looks nervous and encourage them.
