Our Waiting Was Never Wasted Time

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Good morning, and happy Saturday. Think of a child at the front window, nose on the glass, watching for Grandpa's truck. That child isn't wasting time. She is leaning toward someone who is coming.

"O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble."
— Isaiah 33:2 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
Lord, I have waited for you. Some of it patiently, some of it with my arms crossed. You never once rolled your eyes at me. Be gracious to me this morning. Be my strength for this Saturday, with its laundry, its slow coffee, its errands, its unplanned hours. Give me the grace to enjoy what is ordinary. Teach my hands to be gentle and my mind to be quiet. And if trouble shows up today, let me remember that you are not my backup plan. You are my salvation, already in the driveway, already walking up to the door. Thank you for coming. Amen.
