Monday morning, and the tulip bulbs are already at work under the cold yard. Nobody sees it. Nobody has to. God is doing the same thing in you.
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." — Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, you planted something good in me before I knew there was ground to plant it in. Some mornings I dig around to check on it. I find only dirt, and I get nervous. Forgive me. You do your best work where I can't see. Today I won't pull myself up by the roots to measure my progress. Water me with your word. Set me in the light you choose. When I feel slow, remind me that you keep the calendar, not me. You have marked a morning when what you began will stand open and finished, in full color. I trust the hands that planted me. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Stop checking my progress. Trust the slow work today.
Thank God for one thing he has already changed in me.
Encourage someone who feels stuck in the middle of something.
