Good morning, and happy Thursday. Somewhere in your town a baker has been at work since four, with the oven lit and the street still dark. That is how early God keeps his hours.
"God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early." — Psalm 46:5 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Father, good morning. Before my alarm, before the kettle, before the paper hit the step, You were already on shift. You are in the middle of Your people, and You are in the middle of me. The way a bakery keeps its lights on while the street sleeps, You have been working this Thursday soft and ready. I will not be moved today. I am not strong, but You stand in the center, and the center holds. Send Your help early, Lord, just as You promised, before my worry has its shoes on. Open my eyes to it: a kind text, a green light, a friend's laugh. Thank You. Amen.
Today, on purpose:
Notice one small help before noon and thank God aloud.
Take the first hour slowly, without checking my phone.
