He Went Out While the Stars Still Held

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

The house is still dark, Thursday barely a whisper past midnight. Somewhere out there, before anyone stirred, Jesus laced his sandals and walked into the black hills to talk with his Father. You can follow that same quiet road this morning.

"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed."
— Mark 1:35 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
Lord, before the phone buzzes and the kettle whistles, I come to this quiet place with you. You didn't wait for perfect conditions to pray — you rose in the dark and went looking for your Father's face. Teach me that same hunger. Let me want you before I want anything else the day offers. Clear the fog from my mind, settle my breathing, and speak into this stillness. Whatever Thursday holds — deadlines, traffic, tired conversations — let it grow from this rooted, quiet hour. Thank you for meeting me here, in the dark, before the world wakes up. Amen.
