The Bread of Worry Can Go Stale

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

The phone is face-down now, and the day's chatter has gone out of the room like a tide. The list on the counter can keep its own company until morning. Nothing on it will wander off in the dark.

"It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep."
— Psalm 127:2 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer
Father, I have been up early and up late, and tonight I am putting down the fork. I will not eat the bread of worry. You have set something softer in front of me: a warm blanket, a quiet room, the slow rise and fall of my own breath. I give You the conversations I replayed and the tasks I dragged from hour to hour. You were holding the whole day while I thought I was. Let my shoulders drop. Let my hands open on the sheet. Let sleep come like a gift from a friend who knew just what I needed. Thank You for loving me enough to say, rest. Thank You for tomorrow's mercies already waiting. Amen.
Blessing for your rest
May the Lord who never sleeps keep watch over your doors and your dreams tonight. Sleep deep, beloved, you and everyone under your roof.

Have Providence read you to sleep
