Carried Inside Like a Child Asleep

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

The phone is face down now, and the texts can wait. The list on the refrigerator will still be there at breakfast, and the unanswered email will keep without you. Hear the house settle, one soft tick at a time, and let your shoulders come down from around your ears.

"I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me."
— Psalm 3:5 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer
Father, tonight I am the child asleep in the back seat, and You are the one who carries me in. I don't have to remember the road. I don't have to find the door. Your arms know the way, and the stairs, and the bed. What I didn't finish, I leave in the cooling car, where the engine ticks and quiets. Keep my heart beating while I wander far off in dreams. And when I wake, let me know whose hands brought me home. Thank You for sustaining me through every dark hour I never noticed, and for the morning already on its way. Amen.
Blessing for your rest
May the Lord who sustains you keep watch over every sleeping head in your house tonight. Rest deep, wake gently, and find His kindness waiting at the door of morning.

Have Providence read you to sleep
