Let the day's noise settle like dust after a long walk. The emails will wait, the dishes will wait, the list on the counter will still be there tomorrow, unhurried. Set it all down now — even the parts you didn't finish.
"Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life." — Psalm 42:8 (KJV)
Tonight's prayer Lord of my life, the day is folded up and put away. Thank You for steering me through it with kindness I didn't earn. Tonight my heart quiets enough to hear the song You've carried in me all along — not loud, just steady. I think of families tonight who felt the ground shake or watched flames come close to home, forced out into the dark with nothing but each other. Hold them. Give them a safe place to lay their heads too. And Lord, thank You for this bed, this roof, this breath. I rest now, grateful, in Your song.
Blessing for your rest May your sleep be deep and your house be still, and may the Lord's quiet song play on in you until morning.
