Watch an eagle rise and you will notice something surprising. It hardly flaps at all. It finds a current of warm air, stretches its wings wide, and lets the wind carry it higher than effort ever could. The strength that lifts it was never its own.
That may be what Isaiah means by waiting. The Hebrew word carries the sense of hope, of being braided together with someone you trust. Waiting on the Lord is not sitting idle or gritting your teeth until things change. It is leaning your whole weight on Someone stronger and spreading yourself open to what He is already doing. Some days the most faithful thing you can do is stop straining and let Him lift.
Notice, too, how the promise unfolds. First we soar, then we run, and finally we simply walk without fainting. God knows that most of life is ordinary walking, and He promises strength for that too. Today, if you feel tired from pushing, try opening your hands and your heart. Pray, breathe, and trust. A current of grace is already moving beneath you, and you may rise on it with joy.
