The word Peter uses for "casting" is a vivid one. It is the same word Luke uses when the disciples threw their cloaks over a colt so Jesus could ride into Jerusalem. They did not lay those cloaks down gently and then take them back. They placed them fully on the animal that was carrying the King.
That picture changes how we think about worry. Casting our cares is not a quiet sigh or a vague hope that things will work out. It is a decisive act: taking the thing that weighs on us, whether a bill, a diagnosis, a relationship, or an unknown tomorrow, and placing all of it on Christ. Notice Peter says "all." Not just the respectable worries, but the small, silly, midnight ones too.
Then comes the reason, and it is the warmest part of the verse: "for he careth for you." We are not handing our burdens to someone irritated or indifferent. What troubles you matters to him, because you matter to him. So today, name one worry out loud and throw it over, the way those friends threw their cloaks. If it creeps back tonight, cast it again. He never tires of being trusted, and he is glad to carry what you bring.
