David does not say he has no enemies, or that the night never comes. He says something better: the LORD is his light. Light does not remove every shadow from the room, but it shows you where to put your feet. When God is the light, you are never left stumbling in the dark, even when you cannot yet see the whole road.
Notice that David calls God his salvation and the strength of his life, all in one breath. He is rescued, and he is also upheld. God does not simply pull us out of trouble and walk away. He stays close and keeps us standing, day after day, in the ordinary hours when no great rescue is needed.
So when worry rises today, try asking David's question out loud: whom shall I fear? It is not a boast. It is a gentle reminder of who is standing beside you. Let the question settle your heart, and then take the next small step, trusting that the One who lights the way has already seen where it leads. You are safe, you are seen, and you are strong in Him.
