Three Simple Ways to Walk With God

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
— Micah 6:8 (KJV)

Micah does not hand us a complicated formula. The prophet gathers everything God desires into three plain phrases, and each one is something you can do before dinner tonight. Do justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly. It is the kind of faith that fits inside an ordinary Tuesday.

Notice that the first two are about how we treat the people around us. To do justly is to be fair, honest, and willing to stand beside someone who is overlooked. To love mercy is even warmer: not merely to offer kindness when it is required, but to delight in it, the way a generous host delights in an extra guest. God is not asking for grudging duty. He invites us to enjoy being gentle.

Then comes the third phrase, and it holds the other two together: walk humbly with your God. Walking suggests companionship, a steady pace beside Someone who knows the road. Humility here is not thinking poorly of yourself, but remembering you do not have to carry everything alone. Today, look for one fair act, one merciful word, and one quiet moment of walking with Him. That is already a good day, and God has told us so.

Today's prayer
Lord, thank You for making Your will so clear and Your way so close. Help me to act fairly, to love mercy with a glad heart, and to walk beside You humbly all day long. I am grateful that You walk with me. Amen.
