Good morning. Somewhere a neighbor is pinning wet sheets to a line, and they will smell of sun by noon. Thursday is like that: washed, shaken out, and handed to you by the One who made it.
"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Father, you made this day, and I did not. I only woke up inside it. Thank you for the light on the floor and the breath in my chest. Thank you for hands that work and feet that walk. I will not wait for a better day to be glad. I will be glad in this one, with its unfinished list and its ordinary hours. Let me notice what you hung out for me: a friend's laugh, a warm cup, a small surprise. Keep my heart light enough to enjoy them. When I get tired, remind me whose day this is. I rejoice, Lord. Teach me to keep rejoicing until dark. Amen.
