Your Thirst for God Is Good News

🕊 Let Providence read it to you

Tuesday has come with cold floorboards and a glass of water waiting by the bed. Pick it up before you do anything else. Your body knows how to want a drink, and your soul knows how to want God.

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is."
— Psalm 63:1 (KJV)
This morning's prayer
God, you are my God. I woke with a dry mouth and a longing I couldn't name until I said your name. Thank you for the longing. A dead soul wouldn't feel it. I'm drinking this water slowly, and I'm asking you to do the same for my heart. Pour, and let me feel it going down. I came early, before the phone, before the list, before anyone needs a thing from me. I'm hungry for you, and I'm glad of it. Feed me. Fill me. Then walk with me into Tuesday, cup in hand, and let some of what you pour spill onto whoever I meet. Amen.

Today, on purpose:
