Kettle's on, light's climbing over the fence, and you are still here. That's not luck — that's mercy showing up before you even opened your eyes. Sit a minute before the day asks anything of you.
"It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." — Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
This morning's prayer Lord, I woke up and the world was still turning, and so were you — faithful before I said a word. Thank you for holding me through the night, for compassion that didn't run dry while I slept. I don't deserve a fresh start, but you keep giving me one anyway. Forgive what needs forgiving from yesterday; I hand it to you now. Steady my hands for today's work, soften my tongue for today's conversations, and slow my steps when I want to rush past people who need me. Let me carry your faithfulness into ordinary hours — the coffee pot, the commute, the tired coworker. Make me new like this morning. Amen.
