There is a quiet relief in knowing what comes first. Jesus does not ask us to abandon our plans, our work, or our worries about tomorrow — he simply invites us to put him at the center of them. When God's kingdom and his righteousness take the lead in our hearts, everything else finds its proper place, like pieces settling into an order we could never have arranged ourselves.
This is not a formula for instant riches, but a promise about priorities. Seek him first, and you discover that food, clothing, and daily needs were never meant to be the anxious center of your life. They become gifts received along the way, not burdens carried alone. Trusting his care frees us to live generously, patiently, and with open hands rather than clenched fists.
So today, before the to-do list, before the scrolling, before the worry, pause and ask what it means to seek him first in this moment. It might mean a short prayer before a hard conversation, or choosing kindness over being right. Small, ordinary choices to put God first add up to a life quietly reordered around what matters most — and that is a life worth living.
